I spent my childhood in the fabulous fifties absorbing Grey and Sharp's Dick and Jane and Dr. Seuss. Enjoyed bedside readings of The Little Bear, The Borrowers and Harold and the Purple Crayon. It magically turned on my imagination. New, exciting television was a source of great storytelling. I learned to be a cowboy viewing Bonanza and my father learned parenting watching Leave it to Beaver. They were great times.
I love storytelling and had the privilege to work with
children of all colors, ages, shapes and sizes for 22 years. Combining the two it seemed
like a logical choice that after my retirement (October of 2016) I would write
a children's book for my two grandchildren, seven year old Cammie and two year
old Jackson. I would dedicate it to them and move on with other adventures.
What I didn't count on as I studied the craft and engaged with the
incredible, generous and skilled community of writers, was that I would be engulfed
with an enthusiasm I hadn't felt since kindergarten. So it has become a healthy
obsession and I am presently dedicating myself to discovering stories with
captivating characters, memorable moments and the perfect words that will
engage young readers and their parents.
I live in Waterford, Connecticut by the Long Island Sound a source of peace and tranquility with my wife of 46 years Jill. She has always been a source of inspiration and support for me even in my craziest moments. I hope that we are able to share stories with each other in the future and maybe even meet someday to talk about our stories, everyone has one.
